  • 1 1/2 pound stewing beef
  • Canola oil
  • 1 tbsp butter, more if needed
  • 1 cup beef broth, more if needed
  • 1 cooking onion, diced
  • 1/4 red onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic (optional)
  • 6 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce


  1. In a large frying pan, heat some canola oil over medium-high heat.
