Danish Almond Tea Ring

Bread Ingredients

  • ¾ cup 2% milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pkg active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water (105-115 degrees)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 5-6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (8 oz) can almond paste
  • 1 large egg white
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, butter and salt in a medium saucepan and heat until small bubbles form on the sides of the pan, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to 115 degrees. The butter doesn’t need to melted. Pour into the bowl of a stand mixer.
  2. Sprinkle the yeast over the warm water and let stand 5 minutes until the yeast is dissolved and activated.
  3. Add the yeast and almond extract to the milk mixture. Stir in 2 cups of flour and mix with the mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes. Add 2 eggs…
