24-Hour Layered Salad

1 head lettuce, torn in pieces
1 c. celery, sliced
1/2 c. red onions, sliced
1/2 c. sliced green peppers
1 pkg. frozen peas (thawed, uncooked)
1 can waterchestnuts, sliced
3 hard-boiled eggs, sliced

10 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese ( We like Tex-Mex blend shredded cheese.)

Layer the first 7 ingredients in order listed above.

Mix and spread over salad:
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. sour cream
3 tbs. sugar

Top with cheese and bacon.  Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
